2021 News

So 2021 is almost done! Over the last year we have seen numerous paddlers enjoying our waters and wildlife. Lost of first timers along with the experienced. About a year ago we were blessed with added water ways in our marsh. The Suisun Marsh had about 280 acres of controlled wetlands returned to natural flows (Wings Landing Restoration Project). This has already helped improve the water health and with that added wildlife seen firsthand. Another round of wetland restoration is already under progress (Hill Slough Restoration Project) and will add about 850 acres of paddling opportunities once completed.

Business wise, we are in the process of adding more outdoor activities in the coming year. We are just working out our agreement with the land owners. Look for kayak camping, day time paddles with picnics, overnight clubhouse accommodations, and other opportunities to be available soon. We will also be teaming up with our holistic nutritionist friend to offer up various yoga and nutritional retreats. Our excitement is off the charts!

*Update on our previous business expansion with One Lake Properties. Things did not pan out as expected due to low staffing. With that in mind, we are always looking to hire staff. So if you have a background in paddle sports and like to share your knowledge, please inquire.

Paddle on!

2020 Updates

While 2020 has been a roller coaster year for everyone. We as a business have been thriving overall. They have built their own lake to entertain paddle sports. We will be focusing on stand up paddle boarding activities.

Along with expansion, we will need help so we are looking for outdoor leaders to lead events. Current positions include:

Road bike leaders for self guided group outings

Any outdoors activity that you are an expert in such as bouldering, hiking, backpacking, etc. Bring your ideas!!

Please reply by with your resume/qualifications by email @ grizzlywaterskayaking@gmail.com

On our main body of water, the Suisun Marsh, there has been some recent tidal wetlands restoration that will bring back about 280 acres of natural habitat. After 80 years of closed off levies to private property they have been reopened!. Once the balance of nature takes over, we will lead tours into the newly accessible areas and allow self guided paddling.

Thanks for your support and interest!

Please send us your resume if you are interested in this unique opportunity.

New Grizzly Waters Map!!

Summer is in full paddle mode! We have seen tremendous interest in the Suisun Marsh from not only locals but many from around the country. Some of the states we have seen paddlers from include; NY, MN, NC, FL, OR, WA, TX, MS, and PA. Thanks for finding us! Our July 4th weekend was incredible and ended with a bang on our Fireworks paddle. We are planning on adding a more intense and longer 4 hour guided tour for the more advanced paddler that will lend the opportunity to get out on a small beach. Paddle boarding is picking up interest as well as people are discovering that downtown Suisun is a great place to learn the sport.

After a lot of research and investigating, we have finally come up with a map of the area. We hope this is helpful in gaining knowledge or planning your day on the water. Keep in mind that there are numerous smaller waterways not printed on the map. Happy paddling!!
